Constant Content: Cloud Academy’s Q3 2020 Roadmap

Hello —  Andy Larkin here, VP of Content at Cloud Academy. I am pleased to release our roadmap for the next three months of 2020 — August through October.

Let me walk you through the content we have planned for you and how this content can help you gain skills, get certified, and be successful in your role. Our focus areas for new content over the next three months are data science, software engineering, and DevOps tools. 

New for Q3

Data science content

We are releasing eight new learning paths to provide an end-to-end solution for becoming a data engineer. This content is in production right now, and we will be rolling this content out through August. This is the full soup-to-nuts practical guide to mastering data science you’ve been waiting for. The learning paths and labs in this content track are all based on practical business scenarios designed to help you learn by doing in the real world. This content will become part of the new Personal Training Plan functionality we are releasing soon to make it even easier for you to get the skills you need to master a job role. 

Software engineering content

We are adding more Advanced Python content, Introduction to Scala, and Programming with Go for our backend development tracks. This is solid content to complement the Python, Java, and R domains we already cover. 

For front-end developers, we are creating Introduction to Angular to complement the ReactJS: Zero to Hero and Developing Web Applications with HTML and CSS front-end development content we added in Q2. We have Full-Stack Developer content, and it’s good content with lots of hands-on labs. 

Azure certifications content

Keeping you aligned and informed on Azure certifications (and the many changes and updates being released by Microsoft) is another focus for Q3. The Azure certifications keep changing, and you might be feeling unsure about what certs are current and, most importantly, how to prepare. Our Azure team is here to keep you updated across all the changes that have been made recently, and we have a comprehensive suite of new Azure courses to help you prepare and pass the Azure certs. We have many interesting data science and DevOps courses rolling out that you asked for, such as the DP-100 certification prep learning path. This is a big learning path that includes a lot of courses and labs. 

AWS content

As usual, we have a massive list of new content for AWS. The key focus is the AWS Data Analytics Specialty (DAS-C01) Certification learning path. This, combined with the Database Speciality Certification LP we released in Q2, ensures you have coverage for ALL the latest AWS certs. 

Google Cloud content

We are adding more GCP content, like Managing GCP Operations Monitoring, as well as Managing and Investigating Service Incidents on GCP.

We stay on top of all the tech changes so you can focus on learning

We all know cloud technology changes quickly. We love meeting your requests, and our roadmap process enables us to respond quickly when a new service emerges or becomes prominent in your toolchains. ALL the DevOps courses proposed for Q3 are based on customer requests. We have courses planned for:

• Kafka Data Streaming
• Introduction to Spinnaker (CICD)
• Java Test Driven Development (TDD) using JUnit
• C# Dotnet – Test-Driven Development (TDD) using xUnit
• Java Build Automation using Maven 
• Building Java-based Microservices with Spring Boot

We also have a Jira Fundamentals learning path planned, which will give more depth to our Atlassian coverage. A few other DevOps content titles that we are going to help you with this quarter include:

• Docker Certified Associate (DCA) Exam Preparation
• Docker Enterprise: Universal Control Plane (UCP)
• Istio –  Kubernetes Service Mesh
• Mastering Microservices with Python, Flask, and Docker
