This certification Course is specifically designed to prepare you for the AWS Certified Database - Specialty (DBS-C01) released in April 2020. It covers all the elements required across all of the domains outlined in the exam blueprint. Throughout this course, you will be guided via our courses, hands-on labs, lab challenges, and a preparation exam at the end, all of which are focused on areas that will be assessed within the exam.  

Intended Audience

This course is suitable for anyone wanting to pass the AWS Certified Database - Specialty DBS-C01 exam. As defined in the exam blueprint, which can be found here, the exam has been designed for individuals who perform in a database-focused role and validates an examinee’s comprehensive understanding of databases, including the concepts of design, migration, deployment, access, maintenance, automation, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting.

Learning Objectives

As defined by AWS, the aim of the certification is to validate your knowledge by being able to: 

  • Understand and differentiate the key features of AWS database services.
  • Analyze needs and requirements to design and recommend appropriate database solutions using AWS services.

As a means of demonstrating this knowledge, you will be tested across 5 different domains, with each domain contributing to a total percentage of your overall score. These domains are broken down as:

Domain 1: Workload-Specific Database Design 26%

Domain 2: Deployment and Migration 20% 

Domain 3: Management and Operations 18% 

Domain 4: Monitoring and Troubleshoot 18%

Domain 5: Database Security 18%

As you progress through the course, you will gain all the information and knowledge required to fulfill the domain expectations, gaining a deep understanding within each area.
